Customer Instructions/Errors
Positive Images will follow all instructions as closely as possible. Should a mistake be made, Positive Images will make every effort to make corrections as quickly as possible. All orders in dispute must be returned with originals, prints, invoices, original work order or written instructions, and corrective instructions in writing. REQUESTS FOR REMAKES MUST BE MADE WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS OR ACCEPTANCE IS AGREED UPON. For remakes to be accepted, the original instructions must have been in writing. Instructions take over the telephone or verbal instructions will only be accepted with the understanding that Positive Images will not be responsible for any mistakes arising therefrom.
Color Matching
Due to various pigmentation, different color emulsions, and other reasons, it is sometimes difficult to reproduce all colors accurately; however, every care will be taken to color match as closely as possible.
On original artwork or old color prints, THE CUSTOMER SHALL ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY for the results of such work requested, following the Lab's prior warning concerning possible difficulties presented by the submitted original art and the quality of the reproduction which can be expected.
Print Finish
Most of our print services off the choice of glossy or matte finish. If nothing is specified when ordered, commercial prints will be glossy and portraits will be matte.
Proportions
Film is exposed in a camera to a fixed size. This size does not necessarily match the proportion of available film or standard photographic paper sizes. For example, a 35mm negative or slide will not enlarge to 8" x 10" size without losing part of the image (borderless) or producing an unequal border with full image (no crop).
Cropping
Specify your cropping instructions on film sleeve, proof sheet or tissue overlay. Outline the major subject on the sleeve or overlay, so if the film moves it can be reregistered, to insure proper cropping.
- Use only soft felt pens or grease pencil on sleeves.
- Do not write directly on film or use a ball point pen.
- Indicate exact cropping with straight lines.
- Indicate approximate cropping with wavy lines.
- Indicate areas to be lightened with small circles.
- Indicate areas to be darkened with slashes.
Borders
If you do not specify that you want borders, your order will be printed borderless. If you do not want borders, please indicate the size needed.

Size
Please indicate the size print you want. Paper comes in standard sizes listed on the price pages. Prints that are odd sizes will be put on the next larger paper.
Reorders
When placing reorders or orders for multiples, please send a guide print for color and/or cropping match.

Service Schedules
Listed with each service is its normal delivery time. Days listed include in-lab working days. This does not include pick-up and delivery, weekend, holidays, shipping and approval time. Orders received after 12:00 noon will be considered as being received the following day for scheduling.
